What it means to be a Friend of Scouting
What it means to be a Friend of Scouting
Have you completed your follow-up with everyone who didn’t return their pledge form? Our goal is that every family return their FOS form to the unit. If it’s been a couple weeks, make sure to follow-up with them and don’t be afraid to ask for what you need.
A compelling case for support (reason to give) can be very persuasive for a donor. Instead of simply asking for what you think the donor can give, or a small amount more than they gave last time, tell them what you really need.
To help kids:
- Gain self-confidence and perseverance
- Learn good values, how to make good life choices.
- Set and reach goals and Be Prepared. For Life.
- Have FUN and make friends for life!
Fulfilling Scouting’s mission – THAT’S what you’re really after. In 2018, Friends of Scouting made that mission possible when 18,928 Youth who attended Camp benefited by
- Earning Merit Badges such as: First Aid (848), Swimming (873), Environmental Science (893), Cooking (870), Camping (797), Leatherwork (907)
- Using 10 new bows, 100 lifejackets, 25 tents, 120 tables/chairs, 7 pedal boats, 40 3D-printing pens for Cub Scout Camp
- Better Facilities at Fred C. Andersen (Training Building: new paneling, lighting, kitchen) and at Phillippo (Ramsey Shelter: new doors, windows, paneling, paint)
Make sure you’ve followed up with each family and ask them to invest in the Scouting program – $21 / month supports one (1) Scout for the year.
