Philmont Pre-trek Instructional Course Offered in Minneapolis – Sept 17-18

Philmont is offering pre-trek Leader training at our Golden Valley office

What to Expect?

Philmont will be sending experienced members of the Ranger and Backcountry Departments to run pre-trek instructional courses around the country. These one day, 8-hour courses will take place on Saturdays or Sundays and will mostly be held at Scout offices in regions with a high concentration of registered Philmont participants.

Field-PASS courses will begin at 9:00 a.m. and usually take place in council Scout offices. Experienced members from the Ranger and Backcountry Departments will lead you in the backcountry and logistical fundamentals of Philmont over the course of the day. Participants will enjoy a trail lunch and dinner in between training sessions. At the conclusion of the course, advisors will receive PASS materials to share with crew members. Courses end around 5:00 p.m.

Who is invited?

All adult advisors – whether registered for a 2017 trek, 2018 trek, or just generally interested in learning more about Philmont – are invited to attend a Field-PASS course

How much does it cost?

The cost to attend is $40 and covers a Philmont-style trail meal lunch, dinner, and PASS materials including the PASS Patch.

When?

Courses are being offered Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 at our Golden Valley location.
