Northern Star Scouting at the Minnesota State Fair, August 26 – September 6, 2021

We need you! Northern Star Scouting is looking for energetic volunteers to help represent the Scouting program at Northern Star Scouting’s booth during the Minnesota State Fair. There are still details to be released from the Minnesota State Fair regarding this year’s event, but we are starting our call for volunteers early. To indicate your interest in helping out at the event, please fill out our form.

Over the years, our mobile ropes course has become a common sight and beloved attraction during the run of the State Fair.  Although we will miss the adventures of the ropes course, we are happy to announce that our 2021 booth will feature a mobile archery range. Changing our booth activity at the State Fair will help to showcase the variety of program available for Scouting and will help ensure that more staff members have the opportunity to interact with the public and share the story of Scouting. Help us share Scouting with the community and join us at the Great Minnesota Get Together this Summer.

Northern Star Scouting is in need of many energetic volunteers to work at the State Fair Booth!  This year volunteers will be working weekends and Labor Day shifts.
Youth ages 14 and up may volunteer if they are accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult leader, groups with youth volunteers must have at least two adults present to volunteer.

All volunteers will receive a ticket to the State Fair!  The tickets will be available in August, to be picked up at the Leadership Center at Base Camp.

All volunteers will be required to read the training document attached to this event.   Please review the map and read the training to be sure you know where to go when you volunteer.

What will we be doing at the Fair
– Be a general ambassador for our Scouting programs
– Help participants sign waiver forms and register to participate at the archery course
– Help participants with the archery equipment
– Help Camp staff as needed
