Deadline extended to May 11th — Nominate a Deserving Scouter for District Recognition

NOMINATION DEADLINE IS EXTENDED! Please submit your nominations by May 11th!! Only 11 units have submitted nominations for Outstanding Leader (outstanding Den Leader, Committee Member, Assistant Scoutmaster, etc)  — please be sure to nominate your deserving Adults in your unit to be recognized!!

Each year, the District gathers to celebrate and recognize the parents and leaders who make Scouting so successful. It’a  great evening of fun and entertainment that celebrates the best work being done in our units. The 2020 District Recognition Dinner will is being rescheduled to September (final date TBD)

To recognize the great work, we need your help! Submit your nomination no later than May 11th for the outstanding volunteer who makes Scouting special for you, for son or daughter, or the unit by nomination those volunteers for one or more of the below awards

Glowing Ember Award

The Glowing Ember Award is selected by the Unit and presented by the District to an individual — a parent and leader who during the past year have given that extra bit of contagious enthusiasm, which is so much a part of a successful pack, troop, or crew.

This is YOUR opportunity to help us recognize those leaders who have made your experience as a Scouter better . . . better because you have been able to witness this person’s devotion to Scouting. Each UNIT COMMITTEE may SELECT ONE INDIVIDUAL (parent or scouter) FROM THEIR UNIT to receive the District’s ‘Glowing Ember Award’ at the dinner.

Position Specific Award (Outstanding Cubmaster, Committee Member, etc)

Nominate that outstanding Committee Member, Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster — any leader in your unit for a position-specific award! Depending upon the number of ‘position-specific’ nominations we receive for each position, more than one adult leader could be selected for an award. For example, if we only receive two nominations for a position, we might only present one award; but if we receive fifteen nominations for a position, we have the option of presenting multiple awards.

You (as an individual Scouter) may submit more than one nomination for each position and for the district Award of Merit.

District Award of Merit

The district is entitled, but not required, to present one Award of Merit for each 25 units, or fraction thereof, this year. These will be selected from the Awards of Merit nominations. Please see the ‘District Award of Merit’ nomination form for general information and the requirements for making the award.

Please keep your nominations confidential. The deadline to submit your nomination is April 09, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
