Lion Families, Meet Scoutbook!

If your council is ramping up for BSA’s newest pilot program, we’ve got some exciting news for you – Scoutbook has added the Lion pilot program function to its roster of web tools!

Scoutbook, the unit management web application for the Boy Scouts of America, has added the new Lion feature just in time for fall recruitment, and it’s available now to all units in the 195 pilot councils who have Scoutbook subscriptions.

The Lion program tool is supported by all the same great functionality offered in Scoutbook’s other systems.  This means that in fall 2016, Scoutbook can help you:

  • Import Lions from Scoutnet
  • Add Lion Guides, Lions and Lion dens
  • Include your Lion den in all appropriate activities via the event functionality
  • Record required and elective adventures and Lion badges
  • View an individual’s progress on their wall, including service hours and hiking miles

The Lion program feature will only be visible to units in approved pilot councils and will appear in Scoutbook once the unit leader creates a Lion den.

Make sure Lions get credit for their work

Don’t forget! The key element for making sure data in Scoutbook is accurate is your member ID. To ensure your unit’s data syncs over to Akela properly, check each member’s profile in Scoutbook for their unique member ID. Learn how to do it here.

Scoutbook ensures that not a moment of the Scouting journey is missed. If you aren’t already using this game-changing tool, head to Scoutbook.com and start your unit’s free 30 day trial. You can access all the features the web app offers to fully experience how Scoutbook can help your unit.
