JOIN US FOR 2019 BASE CAMP EARTH DAY – Apr 20, 2019
COME JOIN IN THE FUN, LEARNING, AND SERVICE
Base Camp will be observing Earth Day with a fun and free program on Saturday, April 20th. Come out for a morning of indoor and outdoor fun! This day will have programs for K-5th graders AND Middle and High School Students! Check out the two opportunities below:
K-5TH GRADE:
Start by making your own Earth Day Passport and collect stamps though out the day at different stations. Together, we will get our hands dirty with a service project to spruce of our landscape in support of the pollinators of our neighborhood. On a hike, we will visit and learn about some interesting nearby landmarks of the Historic Fort Snelling. Then we will return to Base Camp’s Team Building Center for more fun – make your own seed bombs, try out archery or rock climbing and even taste some honey from different types of bees!
6TH-12TH GRADE:
Join our Base Camp Youth Advisory Committee in learning about Leadership and the Environment. We’ll be trying out the Leadership Portal and meeting students and Scouts who are putting their leadership skills in action for the planet! Meet and learn from Caleb, a Scout who owns and Island on the Mississippi, and who raises rabbits and uses them to teach STEM education (he’ll have some rabbits along too!). There will be some other cool guests as well.
Pre-registration is required. To sign up, visit https://scoutingevent.com/250-BaseCamp2019EarthDay
