GET RECOGNIZED FOR PUTTING THE “OUT” IN “SCOUTING”
AWARDS FOR UNITS AND INDIVIDUALS
We are highlighting 4 awards this spring for units and individuals recognizing them for their outdoor program and participation. These awards emphasize the importance of outdoor skills and camping. Best of all, you can be recognized as both a unit or an individual, so there is something for everyone.
Whether you’re in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, or Sea Scouting, there is an award for you.
National Summertime Pack Award The pack can qualify for the certificate and streamer by planning and conducting three pack activities—one each in June, July, and August, or during other school vacations if your pack is in a year-round school.
Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scouts may earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award by attending Summer Camp and doing specific activities/requirements
National Outdoor Challenge Unit Award To encourage troops to do more outdoor trips and long-term camping, have an annual program plan, have an activity with a Webelos den, conduct a Leave No Trace program, and teach outdoor-related merit badges.
National Outdoor Awards Program When a Scout excels in outdoor participation, there are awards to show for it! This program, conceived by the BSA’s National Camping Task Force, includes a series of six badges designed to recognize a Scout, Sea Scout, or Venturer who has exemplary knowledge and experience in performing high-level outdoor activities.
The award consists of up to six emblem segments positioned around the perimeter of a beautiful center emblem. All are embroidered in full color. The segments represent six areas of emphasis: Camping, Aquatics, Conservation, Hiking, Riding, and Adventure, with rigorous requirements to earn each segment. The center emblem features an outdoor scene with fleur-de-lis and the words “National Outdoor Awards.”
