EXPERIENCE JOTA/JOTI 2021 ON OCTOBER 16
Come to the Museum on Saturday, October 16, 2021 and you can participate in the largest Scouting events in the world. These simultaneous events are called JOTA (Jamboree-on-the-Air) and JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet). The events run all day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Groups, units, and individuals are welcome.
JOTA uses amateur radio to link Scouts and ham radios around the world, around the nation, and in our community. When you experience JOTA at the Museum, you will be a part of Tim Arimond’s ham radio station KØBSA (Kay-zero-BSA). To make it easier to join events like JOTA, the Museum recently installed a permanent antenna that turns our building into a radio station on demand. Through KØBSA and JOTA, you can connect with over 150 countries and an event that typically has more than one million Scout participants. JOTA gives kids a chance to make friends in other countries from the comfort of a chair.
There is no charge for Museum members and other visitors to attend. Be a world traveler from the Museum via JOTA on October 16! This is not an event you want to miss. Scouts of any age or gender may participate. Visitors can just show up but if you have a group of five or more, we would appreciate it if you could pre-register so we can plan accordingly. We offer two ways to preregister your group of five or more. First, you can use the following link: https://nssm.regfox.com/2021-jota. Second, you can register through the Museum’s website at www.NSSM.org. Once on the website, go to Programs and Events, then Jamboree on the Air, and sign up for a session. See you “on the air.”
