District Added 40 Additional ‘Hero Scouts’ Over Last Year’s School Night For Scouting Campaign
The School Night for Scouting campaign, ‘Hero Scouts’, was concluded for the 2016 school year. We are proud to announce that on September 22nd, we recruited 212 new Scouts into the program – 40 more youth than we recruited last year during our School Night for Scouting campaign.
We cannot stress enough how thankful we are for the efforts of the Scout leaders and parents who made this evening a success. Without your hard work, we would have not made such a meaningful impact in our communities.
There is still plenty of time to recruit new youth to the Scouting program. October is an excellent time to host your unit’s very own ‘Recruitment Night’. Unit recruitment nights do not necessarily need to be stand-alone events, but rather they can simply be community-wide promotions of your existing October unit events. NOW is the time to stock up on materials, reach out to the district for customized supplies, and fill out your Pack’s Dens through follow-up events. Further information can be found on the District’s Recruitment Guide and Resources page.

We’re here to help if you need assistance with your unit’s October recruitment nights and events. Let us know – we’ve been there ourselves!
Again, thank you to all of the Cub Scout volunteers, parents, and Lake Minnetonka District volunteers that made September 22nd a success for Scouting!
