ALL SCOUTING EVENTS SUSPENDED – NORTHERN STAR COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) RESPONSE
For the safety of all, based on the guidance of the governors of Wisconsin and Minnesota, effective immediately all units are to discontinue their in-person meetings, activities and camps. Our Northern Star Camps will also be closed. This suspension will remain in effect until the states reopen schools and extracurricular activities.
Our Leadership Center will remain open for now, although with reduced staffing, as a number of our employees work remotely.
We will continue to update everyone via our website as well as email.
VIRTUAL SCOUTING OPTIONS
During this time, we’ll do our best to give suggestions and guidance on ways Scouting can continue virtually (digital meetings, at-home advancement, etc). Stay tuned to this page and our social media channels for that. In the meantime, our Scouts BSA and Cub Scouts Facebook groups have been very active with volunteers giving tips to each other. Check them out!

Does Scouting continue during these events? YES!
- For Cub Scouts, this is a great time for parents/guardians to work with their Cub Scout on one or more of their adventures! Take advantage of the learning already planned in their Cub Scout book.
- For Scouts BSA, time to think about merit badges to work on — many counselors are able to work online using web conferencing.
- Need to host a Board of Review, a den presentation, or work on a merit badge? Check out web conferencing providers like Zoom, Webex, or 8×8.com who have free and/or discounted plans to use while COVID-19 is impacting schools and community events.
