Eagle Scout Resources
Eagle Scout is the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting. The designation "Eagle Scout" was founded over one hundred years ago. Only four percent Boy Scouts are granted this rank after a lengthy review process.
• In 2017, 55,494 Scouts earned the rank of Eagle Scout
• Around 4 percent of all Boy Scouts earned the Eagle Scout rank in 2017
• In 2017, the average age of boys earning the Eagle Scout rank was 17 years of age
• From 1912 to 2017, 2.485 million Boy Scouts earned the Eagle Scout rank
