What to expect at this month’s Roundtable Meeting
The monthly District Roundtable meeting provides an information and training forum for adults involved as leaders in the Scouting program. Parents and children are welcome to attend. These meetings allow attendees from all parts of the Scouting program to:
◾ 
Discuss topics of interest, both formally and informally
◾ Learn new skills and program topics for your unit
◾ Learn about upcoming District and Council events
◾ Meet and exchange ideas with other leaders from the District
Roundtable is open to all adults involved with the Scouting program. Registered leaders are especially encouraged to attend.

At the November Roundtable we’ll provide you with the information to ramp up your unit’s activities and camping fun. Whether it’s getting outdoors or just getting out of your regular meeting location, we’ll provide you with ideas to turbo charge 2017! Come for the fellowship and the laughs . . . and our Roundtable cracker barrel!
6:00 – 7:00 – Prior to Roundtable
Annual Recharter: Membership Renewal – Due November 3, 2016 – The leaves have changed and the weather is starting to get a little colder – that can only mean one thing . . . we’re in the midst of the annual re-charter cycle! Our District re-charter turn-in will be held at the upcoming November Roundtable at the Minnetonka Community Center. We’ll be there beginning at 6pm to accept your recharter paperwork.
All paperwork is due on November 3rd. We highly encourage you to send a representative from your unit to the November Roundtable with your recharter paperwork. We will be available to check your paperwork, answer your questions, and accept your final documents on behalf of the council
On-time charter renewal is required for all Journey to Excellence levels of attainment.

7:00 – 7:10 – Joint – Roundtable Opening – Flags and Announcements
Submit Your Unit’s Family FOS Dates – The name of the FOS Coordinator for your unit, the email address of the FOS Coordinator, the date, time, and location of your Family FOS presentation, the date, time, and location of an alternative FOS presentation must be scheduled with the district by November 15th to qualify for free pinewood derby cars for packs or rank advancement recognition items for Troops and Crews. 7:15 – 7:25 – Joint – Big Rock Topic
Year-Round Fun at Base Camp: Rock Climbing, Shooting Sports, and More – Cabin Fever smack down; go to Base Camp to keep your program exciting, even during the winter months!
7:30 – 8:20 – Boy Scout – Boy Scout Breakout Program
National High Adventure, North Wind, Snow Base, and the NSC camps – The thrill of our High Adventure Bases runs far and wide across America, and nobody in the world is better at sharing those experiences than the Scouts. Nobody. We will provide you with information on each of the four National High Adventure Bases – Florida Sea Base, Northern Tier, Philmont Scout Ranch, and The Summit. We’ll also discuss the council’s winter adventure programs of North Wind and Snow Base and the other council camps that your unit can use for your own campouts.
7:30 – 8:20 – Cub Scouts – Cub Scout Breakout Program
Polar Cubs, Camp Akela, Cub Day Camps, and More – Just ask any unit leader who has attended these camps and you will hear that – THEY ROCK! The summer camps like Akela can ramp up your fun and take care of your scouts’ advancement! Do you know about the Cub Day Camp offerings? Do you know which council camps your unit can use for our own campouts? We will provide you with the information you need to know at this roundtable meeting.

OA Chapter Meeting
The Order of the Arrow is a “Brotherhood of Scout Honor Campers”, often referred to as the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service. We are a group of people who have been elected by our peers as being capable of upholding the honor through our continued actions of cheerful service to others. It is a youth-run organization, meaning that all important decisions are made by the youth (age 20 or less) under advisement of the adult Advisors.
Meetings of the Lake Minnetonka Chapter of the Totanhan Nakaha Lodge, Order of the Arrow, are held in conjunction with the district roundtables on the first Thursday of each month.
7:00 – 8:30 – OA Chapter Meeting During Roundtable
Chapter officers should attend, and all troops should send their OA Troop Representative (a youth leadership position) or another OA member to represent their unit, but all OA members are invited to attend these meetings. We are planning for a big year and need lots of help.
