Annual Recharter Timeline

September

Your unit should deliver any new youth and adult applications to the Scout office as you normally would for any recruiting that is done in September

  • It is recommended that units have new members pay the $45 (annual registration of $33 and Boys’ Life fees of $16) in addition to the current month’s pro-rated fee so the member is registered through December 2019. Example: fee for one new member registered in September, $44 + $16 (registration and Boy’s Life fees) = $60
  • 5th grade Webelos that will be transitioning to a troop in early 2019 should be re-registered in the pack for 2019 during the recharter period. In order to transfer into the troop in 2019, these members will fill out a new youth application for the troop

October 

  • Oct 4th, Online recharter opens for Packs, Troops, Teams, Crews, Ships and Posts
  • Unit charter renewal packets will be distributed at the October Roundtable
  • Training for unit leaders will be conducted at the October Roundtable, to be held at the Wayzata Community Church on Thursday, Oct 4th

November

  • Pack, Troop, Team, Crew, Ship & Post charters submit their Charter at the November Roundtable (Nov 1st)
  • Commissioners start to receive unit charters
  • Council office starts to receive unit charters
  • Unit charters must be received by Nov 30th to qualify for JTE Platinum and Gold levels, and by Dec 15th to qualify for Silver and Bronze levels.

Unit charters must be 100% defect free in order to be received by the Registrars

December

  • Commissioners continue  to receive unit charters

Internet Recharter

Streamline Your Annual Recharter Paperwork
  1. Get your unique unit access code from your charter renewal packet. Remember, you are considered a NEW USER every year on first login
  2. Work at your own pace. Save your work, stop, and start again, if necessary. Use the DRAFT feature until you have completed and verified all entries
  3. When absolutely FINAL, submit online once to NSC
  4. Print your new Recharter form
  5. TWO signatures: Institution Head and unit leader
  6. Calculate fees per recharter instructions
  7. Pay fees with separate check
  8. Bring your signed rechartered paperwork and additional applications (if required) to your Unit Commissioner at our November 1st Roundtable
