April Roundtable – WHAT TO EXPECT – April 5, 2018 – 7:00PM
What to expect at this month’s Roundtable Meeting
The monthly District Roundtable meeting provides an information and training forum for adults involved as leaders in the Scouting program. Parents and children are welcome to attend. These meetings allow attendees from all parts of the Scouting program to:
◾ 
Discuss topics of interest, both formally and informally
◾ Learn new skills and program topics for your unit
◾ Learn about upcoming District and Council events
◾ Meet and exchange ideas with other leaders from the District
Roundtable is open to all adults involved with the Scouting program. Registered leaders are especially encouraged to attend.

Rather than completing the sign-in form when you arrive at roundtable, save the time and instead check-in now online.
Each Scout unit should send at least one representative to each roundtable meeting.

PRIOR TO ROUNDTABLE
6:00PM – “Eagle Projects From the Adult Leader’s Perspective” – Mithun
- This training session is designed to help adult troop leaders guide Scouts as they prepare for, plan, and execute their Eagle project. This session (starts at 6PM) is not the primary session for Scouts, although, much of the same information will be presented in the Eagle Preview Meeting taking place at 7:00PM. Read more
7:00PM – Eagle Preview Meeting – Mithun
- Please join the Lake Minnetonka District Advancement Committee for our Eagle Scout Preview meeting on April 5, 2018, beginning at 7:00PM at the Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd E, Wayzata, MN 55391 (map). This is the same night and location as our April Roundtable meeting. This meeting is designed to provide Life Scouts, their parents, and their adult leader with the most current information necessary for navigating through the Eagle Scout process. Even if you are a seasoned veteran of many an Eagle Scout, there is always something new to learn. The information will be presented by the district advancement committee. Read more

7:00PM – Flags and Announcements – Community Room (across from Mithun)
- We will briefly meet in the Community Room for announcements.

:15PM – Adult CPR/AED Training at April Roundtable – FREE OF CHARGE – Gym
- This course will prepare you to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults and meets OSHA/workplace/ Scouting requirements. This is a blended learning course including an instructor-led classroom skill session. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a certificate for Adult CPR/AED valid for two years. This course will be taught without charge to you. A typical fee for this course is normally $73.00. The class will end approximately at 8:30PM! Subway samplings will be provided. YOU MUST PREREGISTER FOR THIS CLASS. Registration
7:15PM – Boy Scout Breakout Program – Geo Lab (across from gym)
- Discussion of Future Roundtable Topics – Ron Larson will lead a discussion of possible topics for future roundtables during the 2018-2019 season, beginning at 7:15PM.
- First Aid Skills for the First Aid Merit Badge – Dr. Christian Ogilvie will review first aid skills necessary for the First Aid merit badge from, 7:30PM to 8:30PM.
7:15PM – Cub Scout Breakout Program – Community Room (across from gym)
- Preparing for Summer – Summer is approaching and it’s time to start thinking about summer camps, summer programs, outdoor activities, hiking, camp-style cooking, Leave No Trace, and much much more. Did you know about the Pack Summertime Award and what is required and how to plan towards your cub scouts achieving it? Help us, help you get the best out of the outdoors this summer season.

OA Chapter Meeting – Kitchen (off the Gym)
The Order of the Arrow is a “Brotherhood of Scout Honor Campers”, often referred to as the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service. We are a group of people who have been elected by our peers as being capable of upholding the honor through our continued actions of cheerful service to others. It is a youth-run organization, meaning that all important decisions are made by the youth (age 20 or less) under advisement of the adult Advisors.
Meetings of the Lake Minnetonka Chapter of the Totanhan Nakaha Lodge, Order of the Arrow, are held in conjunction with the district roundtables on the first Thursday of each month.
7:00 – 8:30 – OA Chapter Meeting During Roundtable – Kitchen (off the Gym)
Chapter officers should attend, and all troops should send their OA Troop Representative (a youth leadership position) or another OA member to represent their unit, but all OA members are invited to attend these meetings. We are planning for a big year and need lots of help.

6:00 – 6:45 – Prior to Roundtable – Commissioners Meeting – Geo Lab (off the Gym)
Commissioners Meeting (for the Commissioners AND District members)
The topics on the agenda for our meeting will include:
- JTE 2.0 Guidepost 1, Review and Reflect – final countdown to completion by April 30.
- New Youth Protection – strategies to make all registered adults compliant by Oct 1.
- Recharter – last year’s results and ways to improve the process.
