2021 SPRING BALOO COURSE NOW OPEN FOR REGISTRATION – BALOO Trained Leader is required for any Pack camping

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) TRAINED LEADERS PUT THE OUTING IN SCOUTING

​​Attention all Cub Leaders looking to get outside Camping with your pack!

We have a BALOO training scheduled for May 22-23, 2021. A BALOO trained leader is a requirement for a Pack or Den to facilitate their own camping activities and covers topics from health and safety to the logistics of planning and running a successful camping trip. You’ll learn about program planning, meal preparation and food safety, camping gear selection, water safety,  and campfire program planning, and you’ll get hands on experience with group games, skits and songs, and traditional Scouting skills like pocketknife use and safety, map and compass, knot tying, hiking, and first aid. The course includes a 3 hour ZOOM session and an overnight camping experience at Fred C. Andersen Scout Camp.

 

When:  Saturday, May 22, 2021, 9:00AM  to Sunday, May 23, 2021, 11:00AM. The 24 hour course includes an overnight camping experience.
***There will be a Zoom meeting on Wednesday evening, May 19, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM to cover the classroom portion of the BALOO syllabus so we can more effectively social distance at the BALOO event itself.
