Horse Ranch Campout 2018
Despite the week of heavy rain the Fall Camporee 2018 was a huge success! Over 420 Scouts, Scouters, their family and friends enjoyed a dry and sunny weekend at the River Valley Horse Ranch in Carver, Minnesota. The campsite was moved from the low lying area near the Minnesota River bottom to an area high on a hill, which actually worked out well, because all of the activities, including camping and the horse trail rides were in the same location. Everyone enjoyed a full day of activities on Saturday. This included the one hour horse trail rides, climbing tower, displays, Webelos activity area, the metal working merit badge, wilderness survival merit badge, competitions, and a campfire. The campfire program was absolutely over the top. A special thank you to the host T174, T303, T330, T409, T589, T702, David Olson, Jim Lindfors, Nick Fasching, Mellissa Stanfa-Brew, Sally Jensen, and the Activities Committee for working on this Camporee. Photos and results are available on the district website.
