On May 7, 2009, Lake Minnetonka District hosted its annual recognition dinner at the Wayzata Community Church. The dinner, catered by Paulette Daniels, Executive Chef of Rose Arbor in Maple Grove, was attended by a record-breaking 215 Scouts, outstanding leaders, and their families. In addition to our yearly adult leader recognitions, three Scouters were honored with the District Award of Merit, the highest award presented at the district level.
Our district has a long tradition of providing a top-notch Scouting program and last year was no exception. In addition to being the first district to complete their Friends of Scouting campaign, we had record-breaking membership numbers and we attained the Centennial Quality District recognition for 2008.
Congratulations and thanks to chairman Ron Forneris, co-commissioners Mike Aase and George Hidding, and district executive Patti Czech -- along with their entire district committee -- for our many successes this past year.
