The Grief We Feel For Lost Scouts - Little Sioux Scout Ranch
Message from Lloyd Roitstein

Last week our Scouting family lost four exceptional young men. Words cannot express the profound grief we feel for the families of Josh, Sam, Ben and Aaron. We will never forget them.

I want to say thank you to all of those of you who have supported us during this time of grief, especially the families of the young men who were at Little Sioux Scout Ranch, our staff, leadership, volunteers, local authorities and the community. Together, we’ll get through this tragedy and rebuild Little Sioux Scout Ranch.

In the past few days we’ve seen many acts of heroism, both small and grand. Scouts have always been heroes, but as the world turned its eyes to the Mid-America Council it saw this legacy of heroism in action. And, we’ve all been reminded of our collective faith in a higher power. It is this faith that gives us strength today and hope for tomorrow. It is this faith that will help us heal.

Now, more than ever, I believe duty to God, country, others and self are more than just words. Scouting is truly more than what we do – it’s who we are.

Please continue to pray for our family and may God bless the Boy Scouts of America.
