Job Descriptions for Food Shelf
We are looking for people who are willing to take some leadership roles in the food shelf. If you are interested in any of these positions please contact either Ann Scoles 612-720-1821, or Patti Affelt 763-479-1620 in the church office.
- Several people to unload Second Harvest truck every second and fourth Tuesdays at 2pm.
- Several persons to shop at Second Harvest Food Bank and unload trucks back at food shelf.
- Some one to check 2 Harvest website several times a day looking for deals. Mainly TFAP, free or really good buys.
- Data entry persons to track clients, donations, weight in, weight out. Also person to track which foods are going the fasted and need to be reordered.
- Thank you note writer
- Person to write, call and visit all churches each January; trying to get them online to donate for March Food Drive.
- Person to advertise in Loretto, Maple Plain, Independence and Long Lake for March food drive and all year.
- Person to pick up free food donations from sites.
- A few people to keep fundraisers going year-round.
- People to stock shelves after deliveries.
- A few people to break down empty boxes and tie them up for recycling.
- Persons to write call and visit places to get donations such as home depot for flooring, paint and new appliances. Pet stores for free pet food; Stores to ask for food donations such as lunds, star bucks, and rainbow foods.
- Person to go to advertise our food shelf such as food related expos. This could be at churches, schools, women’s groups, community meetings ect..
- Person to go to chamber of commerce meetings.
- Person to write and send out press-releases.
